Who We Are
A National Hub for Traditional Practice
Ki No Nagare Aikikai UK serves as the official national framework for practitioners of the Tada Juku tradition. Our organisation is dedicated to the technical and philosophical transmission of Aikikai Aikido as taught by Hiroshi Tada Shihan, a direct student of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba.
We currently oversee two primary dojo branches in London, located at the historic Budokwai and Danceworks. providing a high-standard environment for students of all levels. As a non-profit entity, our mission is to advance the education and health of the public through the disciplined study of Ki no Renma (cultivation of energy) and Bukiwaza (traditional weapons)
The Technical Lineage: The Tada Juku Tradition
At the heart of our practice is the specific methodology of Tada Shihan. This lineage is distinguished by its focus on internal development, vibratory exercises, and a non-competitive, harmonious approach to interaction.
- Hombu Recognition: Our curriculum and grading standards are strictly aligned with the Aikikai Foundation (Hombu Dojo, Tokyo).
- Expert Instruction: Led by Rinaldo Rustico (5th Dan), our teaching team brings decades of direct experience from the Aikikai of Italy and the Aikikai Hombu Dojo.
- Global Connection: We maintain deep ties with the international Aikikai community, participating in annual seminars and demonstrations at the Nippon Budokan.
Aikido for the Community
Ki No Nagare Aikikai UK is committed to ensuring that the profound physical and mental benefits of Aikido are accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or financial circumstances.
- Health & Wellbeing: Our classes focus on mindfulness, stress reduction, and physical balance, making the art suitable for practitioners from age 18 to 70+.
- Education: We teach more than physical techniques; we provide instruction in Japanese culture, etiquette, and conflict resolution.
- Concessions: We offer a dedicated Concessions Policy providing reduced fees for students, seniors, and those facing financial barriers. We believe that the path of Aikido should be open to all.
